My Story

I'm Shuhab Big, an 18-year-old university student, Liberal Party member and aspiring public servant from Melbourne's south-east. I have a strong interest in Australian politics, economics, international relations and public policy, particularly how responsible government and practical reform can improve the lives of everyday Australians.

Born in Dandenong and raised in Narre Warren, I grew up in Melbourne's outer south-eastern suburbs, where I attended Berwick College before beginning my university studies at Monash University. I am currently studying International Relations, with a particular interest in Australian government, economic policy, international affairs and political institutions.

Politically, I proudly consider myself an Institutional Liberal, believing in individual freedom, personal responsibility, free enterprise, strong national institutions and equality of opportunity. I am a member of the Liberal Party of Australia, Monash Liberals and the Young Liberals, and I believe that good government should be measured not simply by what it promises, but by what it delivers.

My political interests are particularly focused on economic reform. I believe Australia needs a more competitive economy, a simpler and fairer taxation system, responsible government spending and policies that reward hard work, investment and entrepreneurship. I am equally passionate about energy security, housing affordability, Australian manufacturing, immigration reform and ensuring future generations inherit a prosperous and secure nation.

Beyond economics, I have a strong interest in Australia's place in the world. I believe in maintaining a capable national defence, strengthening our international partnerships and protecting Australia's sovereignty and national interests.

Through this website, I aim to bring together my policy proposals, research, political commentary and ongoing projects. These include my work on taxation and fiscal reform, energy and climate policy, housing, social security and one of my most ambitious long term goal, the revival of Australian automotive manufacturing through the Holden Revival Project.

Although I am still at the beginning of my academic and political journey, my long-term ambition is to serve the Australian people and contribute to the future direction of our country.

Above all, I believe politics should be about national service, responsibility and leaving Australia better than we found it.
